Population Zero is a multiplayer survival game with classic and new gameplay elements. You land with a rescue capsule as one of several other players on the planet Kepler. From now on you have seven days to repair the broken capsule and move on to the next round. However, the foreign environment and numerous opponents stand in your way, which you have to survive.
The game has been in Early Access since May 5th, 2020, and shows the gameplay. In your adventure you will encounter the vegetation and inhabitants of Kepler. In addition to repairing the rescue capsule, you can accept further quests that must be fulfilled and survived within the game cycle. Throughout the game, your character can be customized in terms of his abilities and he will level up. In addition, you have enough time within one round to explore the planet, collect resources and build accommodation. Clothing and weapons are improved through the crafting system.
A round takes seven days in real time. However, this does not mean that you have to play 168 hours straight. The developers have provided several breaks. You can also choose whether you want to play Population Zero in PvE or PvP mode. You can fight the survival battle alone or join other players to form a group.
An important element in Population Zero is the display that fills up when you die. When the display is full, you mutate from a human into a Void - a monstrous creature. You can be revived in this form and participate in the game to a limited extent. For example, it is possible to take revenge on the players who caused your death as a Void. However, you can also choose another mode in which you only have one life and the round ends immediately with the first death.
Population Zero was developed by Enplex Games and is the first and so far only game they have brought to market.
