Krafton announced in its latest quarterly report that it is working on a new project codenamed "Project Black Budget". The project is set to build on the Extraction Shooter trend and will be developed by PUBG Studios.
Aiming to popularize the Extraction Shooter genre, Project Black Budget will draw on Krafton's experience with PUBG and will be more akin to Tarkov, Marauders or DMZ than to Destiny 2 or Outriders.
The game will offer a constantly changing PvPvE open-world and a sophisticated gunplay that delivers unpredictable and exciting experiences. The platforms being considered for release are PC, consoles and mobile devices.
Project Black Budget is one of six strategic projects and is expected to be released in 2024 or 2025. The name Black Budget could hint at the game's theme, which deals with the financing and tasking of secret military operations.
Project Black Budget is the next new project from PUBG Studios following the release of PUBG New State.
