Rainbow Six Siege: The Vision of Balance
Hey gamers! In Rainbow Six Siege, each operator has their own specific strengths and weaknesses. The developers at Ubisoft see it as their mission to provide you with the right toolset for every situation. This means that this year, they are focusing on toning down overly powerful all-rounder operators and instead promoting tactical gameplay. After all, the gadget of each operator should be the main focus.
Changes in Year 8 and Beyond
But don't worry, Ubisoft is not only focused on balancing the operators. They are aware that the community has concerns about the 1.5x sight. While the choice of attachments should play a role, it should not be the deciding factor in choosing which operator to play. That's why the balancing team is working on finding new ways to balance the operators and their equipment.
Individual Operator Balancing & Tactical Gameplay
One might think that some operators like Iana, Azami, Warden, Solis, and Blackbeard currently don't feel quite balanced. The developers have also recognized this and are working tirelessly to address these issues and make these operators more balanced. With an upcoming mid-season update, short-term adjustments will be made to increase or restrict the presence and diversity of operators.
What's Next in Rainbow Six Siege?
One question is surely on the minds of all Rainbow Six Siege players: What's next? With part one of Grim's buff in Y8S2, we can now look forward to more exciting changes.
- Frost's Welcome Mat is being reworked - after intensive internal playtesting and a trial run on the test server, the developers are certain that more work is needed here!
- Fuze's Cluster Charge is being adjusted - in the future, Cluster Charges will be able to attach to Deployable Shields and Osa's Talon-8 Shields.
- All shotguns (except the BOSG 12. TCSG12 and ACS12) will undergo a rework.
- Shield operators are being made stronger - at the same time, the feeling of powerlessness when confronting them will be reduced.
Year 9: Azami's Kiba Barrier
On to the ninth year! The robust Kiba Barrier has made Azami one of the strongest operators. To create a more balanced gameplay experience, Ubisoft plans to make some changes to her gadget.
In conclusion, the concerns of the community are also Ubisoft's concerns. They take your feedback seriously and are proactively working on changes to maintain Rainbow Six Siege as this unique tactical shooter experience! So stay tuned - there are still many exciting innovations waiting for us!
