Low-profile keyboards are becoming increasingly popular among mechanical keyboards. Razer's competition, for example, is the Logitech G915, which was released in 2020 and has impressed in terms of quality. But the price is also correspondingly high.
In 2022 there will be a whole host of manufacturers and models in the segment.

Structure of the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro
The first thing that strikes us is the good processing quality of the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro. The combination of aluminum and plastic looks very valuable and harmonious. The keyboard does not bend and the keys do not make any noise, even if you shake the keyboard hard.
On the right side there is a volume control with which you can adjust the volume as usual. The rotary knob itself is made of aluminum and is ribbed. Overall, this also feels very valuable. Next to it is the multifunction button, also made of metal.
The regular keycaps of the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro feel really good. The coating is smooth without being slippery. How the coating will change over time of use can not be said yet. The keys themselves are made of ABS. The stabilizers used by Razer are also of good quality. The spacebar moves down linearly when pressed and back up again.
The keystroke polling rate is 1,000 Hz (1 ms) and leaves nothing to be desired. A height adjustment allows you to customize the keyboard to your own ergonomics.
The keys themselves
Razer has built linear optical switches, the premium version on the key switch market. This type of switch uses a laser to register keystrokes with minimal debouncing. This means faster and more precise detection than any other technology.
The actuation when writing and playing is very pleasant. There are hardly any "accidental" keystrokes to be found. The keys themselves feel very soft, but are still precise and responsive.
Functionality of the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro
The Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro has a low latency in the wireless connection. There is no difference in reaction speed compared to wired keyboards.
In addition to the aforementioned volume knob, there are other media keys. This allows you to pause and start media. With a double press on the button, you can jump to the next title or video. With three presses you can play the previous title again. The concept is now common with wireless headphones.
Battery life of the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro
In wireless mode, the battery life is more than sufficient with around 40 hours. However, if you often forget to connect the keyboard, you might be happier with a wired keyboard.
Razer Synapse Software
One of the biggest weaknesses of the Razer Deathstalker Pro V2 is, in our opinion, the software. But that's nothing new and has already been criticized in many tests. Razer Synapse is a bit cumbersome to use, still has smaller bugs and, in our opinion, is not really beautiful.
For example, in the software you can adjust the RGB settings for each individual key. You can also adjust macros, sleep settings and various profiles in Razer Synapse.
Of course, all these functions work in principle. Above all, the RGB settings are on a par with those of other manufacturers.
What we also noticed during the test is the time between the "awakening" of the keyboard after the first keystroke is more noticeable than with other manufacturers. This is not really a negative point, but in comparison to a Logitech G915, for example, you can feel a clear difference.
Our conclusion on the Razer Deathstalker Pro V2
If you are currently looking for a chic wireless gaming keyboard, you will not go wrong here. You should not be put off by the price either. If you consider how much time you spend with the keyboard, the price will be relative. Longevity and above all quality make the price of keyboards.
In our opinion you should give the Razer Deathstalker Pro V2 a chance. You will learn to love it.
