On October 4th, 2019 it finally happened and Rockstar Games put an end to the long wait of many video game players. The news we are talking about is the official release date of the PC version of RDR 2 - November 5th, 2019.
When is the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2?
- From October 9th, 2019 RDR 2 is available for pre-order in the Rockstar Games Store
- Until October 22nd, 2019 all pre-order customers will receive bonuses for their game
- From October 24th, 2019 the game will be available for pre-order from all other retailers
- On November 5th, 2019 the official release of Red Dead Redemption 2
- From November 19th, 2019 RDR 2 will also be available on the cloud gaming service Google Stadia
- In December 2019 the Steam release of Red Dead Redemption 2
Pre-order Red Dead Redemption at Rockstar
For all pre-orders of RDR 2 through the Rockstar Games Store there are additional bonuses available. The first bonus is a free upgrade to the Premium Edition of the game. If you would rather upgrade directly to the Special Edition or Ultimate Edition of Red Dead Redemption 2, you will have to pay an additional 15 €.
However, we recommend against this as we have already found more favorable offers for the Special Edition. This way you get more content for less money - so it's worth it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 should not be available from resellers until October 24, 2019. The only difference here is the number of gold bars you get for the online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2, which is 25 instead of 50 gold bars.
Steam version of Red Dead Redemption 2
But there is bad news for all those who want to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam. The date for the Steam version of the game is given as December 2019 and is not yet specified to the day. But we think it will be playable on Steam at the latest with Santa Claus.
What are the official Red Dead Redemption 2 system requirements for PC?
According to the information from Rockstar Games, even players with older graphics cards can breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to the release. A more powerful CPU is more advantageous here, but for more precise information you should wait for the first benchmarks. What stands out in particular is the required free space of 150 GB for the PC version of RDR 2. If you want to enjoy Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time in 4K resolution, you should have a high-end system. However, this promises HDR, ultrawidescreen and more than 60 FPS.
