Remnant 2 and the Desire for a Survival Mode
Since its announcement, the sequel to the popular co-op game Remnant has been causing quite a stir in the gaming world. Now, the director of Remnant 2, David Adams, has spoken up about his desire for a survival mode similar to that of its predecessor. However, caution is advised, as an official confirmation for this feature is still pending.
Surviving in the Ashes
In the first installment, Remnant From the Ashes, a survival mode was introduced with the Swamps of Corsus DLC, which added some excitement to the gameplay. This mode is currently missing in Remnant 2, which has left fans somewhat disappointed. Adams, however, has given them hope, albeit in vague terms.
Official and Unofficial
Officially, the development team is currently focusing on the second DLC. Unofficially, they would like to explore a new game mode. Not necessarily a survival mode like in the first installment, but something that offers the same thrill, according to Adams.
Organic Development
Adams further explains that the team's plans for the game are quite organic. For example, the Aberration event in October was not a meticulously planned update; it was something they tried out and thought was cool, so they made it available to players for free.
Looking Ahead to the Future
While the introduction of such a mode is currently not firmly scheduled, a definitive "no" sounds different. Two more DLCs are planned for 2024, so who knows? Maybe one of them will actually feature a return of the survival mode or something similar.
