Remnant 2 - Update adds participation medal

New Remnant 2 Update Revealed

Gunfire Games unveils its latest addition to Remnant 2, a participation medal that players will receive when playing on Apocalypse difficulty.

Remnant 2 is one of the most captivating Soulslike games, thanks to the excellent reputation of the original game and the high ratings of its successor. Gunfire Games has created a worthy sequel to its 2019 RPG and more. Players have been eagerly anticipating the recently released DLC "The Awakened King" and the subsequent update, but they never expected one of the additions to come with new content. If you play Remnant 2 on Apocalypse difficulty, this update is for you.

What does the new update bring?

It's no secret that Remnant 2 offers a co-op gaming experience like no other. Unlike other multiplayer-focused Soulslikes, Remnant 2 provides a full-fledged co-op campaign experience. Since the game's release a few months ago, players have been eagerly anticipating updates from the developers and new DLCs, such as the latest patch for the expansion "The Awakened King".

Participation Medal in Apocalypse Mode

The lead gameplay designer, Ben Cureton, says that the recently released Remnant 2 update ensures that you receive "three slices of orange" as well as a "participation medal" when playing in the notoriously difficult Apocalypse mode.

Combining Fruits and Medal

Thanks to the free new update that came out alongside the "The Awakened King" DLC, the developers are finally acknowledging all your efforts in the Apocalypse difficulty. You don't need the DLC for the mode-specific rewards, as the developer writes, you just need to have the latest version. According to Cureton, you can even combine the fruits with the medal to receive an additional buff.

Further Improvements

While these two new items are the most fun additions to the latest update, the patch also adds more quality-of-life features to Remnant 2. There are now matchmaking regions, which is great news for those of us with less than optimal online connections. But don't worry, you can still join friends from other regions. Check out the full patch notes of the game on Steam for more information on the latest changes.
