Resident Evil 4 - A Classic with Constant Updates
The DLC for Resident Evil 4 couldn't just end with Ada Wong's Separate Ways. A small detail hidden in the Steam backend of the RE4 Remake gives us hope for more. With Ada Wong finally returning in Resident Evil 4 and The Mercenaries being available for free, the only thing missing in comparison to the original game is Assignment Ada in the RE4 Remake. Could this be the next piece of DLC?
Is There More to It?
Resident Evil 4 is a behemoth of a game. With the main campaign, the arcade-style Mercenaries mode, and now Separate Ways with Ada, plus all the unlockable extras and difficulty levels, it is one of the most extensive titles in the Capcom survival horror series. But there might be more to come. A search of Resident Evil 4 on Steam hints at the possibility of additional DLCs.
Mysterious "Unknown" DLC on the Horizon?
In the Steam backend of Resident Evil 4, there is an empty depot for an "unknown" DLC - a space reserved for a future update. With a size of 11.40 GB, this unknown DLC is even slightly larger than the full Separate Ways DLC, which is 11.33 GB. This could suggest the arrival of a forthcoming Resident Evil 4 DLC that is even bigger than Separate Ways. But what could it be? Assignment Ada? More of the Mercenaries mode? Or perhaps something entirely new?
Speculations and Hopes
Perhaps this unknown DLC could be the VR mode, which is currently only available for the PS5. Or - and this is pure speculation - maybe we will get another extra campaign in the style of Separate Ways, but this time focusing on Luis. That would be fantastic! But who knows? Maybe it's just a formality from Steam and doesn't actually mean anything. We'll see.
While We Wait...
In the meantime, we can still enjoy Resident Evil 4. Or how about trying out some of the best zombie games on PC? And if you're in the mood to test your survival skills, there are plenty of survival games that will challenge you. But don't say I didn't warn you!
