Capcom announced in a Tokyo Games Show livestream that the Resident Evil 4 Remake will not be released for the Xbox One. The release for the PlayStation 4 is still planned. Thus, the PlayStation 4 will be the only last-gen console to receive a release.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and on Steam for PC on March 24, 2023. Story-wise, the remake will show the story of Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil 2. In the game, Leon is recruited as an agent and is directly subordinate to the President of the United States. In the course of the story, Leon is sent to a mysterious village in Europe. The president's daughter is said to have been kidnapped there.
In addition to revised graphics, Capcom has also revised the storyline. The original Resident Evil 4 was released 17 years ago.
