RetroSpace: A quirky FPS horror game with impressive locations
The funky FPS horror game RetroSpace combines the claustrophobic corridors of Dead Space with the retro-futuristic designs and immersive sim elements of BioShock and Prey. Developer The Wild Gentlemen has now revealed some of the larger space station locations that you will explore during your adventure.
A glimpse at the massive glass dome of the space station
In a recently shared clip on Twitter, The Wild Gentlemen shows the player exploring a massive glass dome aboard a space station. A path leads around the circumference of the room, and an enormous statue of a winged figure dominates the center of the space. It's mostly dark, but a spotlight on the statue and several glowing billboards break through the darkness.
Open spaces and claustrophobic horror
The developer assures fans that RetroSpace will offer not only many narrow, claustrophobic corridors but also large, open spaces to navigate. The presentation of the huge glass dome already gives us a glimpse of the impressive locations that await us. It immediately evokes the feeling of awe when entering more open spaces in games like Dead Space or BioShock.
Inspiration from classics and anticipation for the game
The first impressions of RetroSpace have impressed us, especially the mix of funky space soundtrack, colorful humor, and terrifying enemy models. The Wild Gentlemen cite classics like System Shock as a source of inspiration. The large and open design of the larger areas only increases our anticipation for the game.
