Creepy Fun in Rust
Thrill-seekers, the Halloween event in Rust is here! And this year, it brings some spooky surprises. How about a thrilling candy hunt? Or building your very own monster? And if that's not enough, mysterious rifts are waiting to be explored. But beware, nobody really knows what lies behind them.
Trick or Treat in Rust
Approximately every two in-game days, a candy hunt event starts. Within three minutes, you must try to collect as many candies as possible. The top three players will receive special loot bags, ranging from scrap to an M249. But don't worry if you don't make it to the podium - you can also exchange your collected candies for better loot.
Monster Building in Rust
What to do with all the body parts lying around in the landscape? How about building your own monster? To do this, you'll need to defeat scarecrows and mummies that roam the world of Rust. Collect a head, a torso, and legs, build yourself a Frankenstein table, and place the body parts inside. With a press of "P," you'll bring your new pet monster to life and be able to control it. It will follow you on the map, defend you against attacks, and help you with your own attacks.
Mysterious Rifts
Mysterious rifts have appeared in the world of Rust. Some believe that cultists have opened these portals, while others suspect a failed cobalt experiment called R.U.I.N. Not much is known about these portals or their function. Do you dare to enter?
New Halloween Items
This year, there are three new Halloween-themed items: the Dracula mask, the cape, and a wooden stake adorned with unique properties that can free the souls of the undead with a single blow. These items can be either purchased or found on the corpses of the undead.
Rust's Pumpkin Carving Contest
It's that time again: Rust's second pumpkin carving contest is here! Carve a design into a pumpkin available in the game and delight the terrifying creatures at Facepunch. The best submissions will be rewarded with skins. The contest runs until November 5, 2023.
Halloween Items in the Rust Item Store
Last year's Halloween items are also available again. These include a creepy hockey face mask, a cultist deer torch, and a baseball bat - perfect for all the zombie hunters out there.
