Rust - Softcore mode takes new players by the hand

In order to increase the target audience of Rust and at the same time introduce new players to the survival adventure, the developers of Facepunch Studios introduced the so-called softcore mode.

As part of the softcore mode, for example, it is ensured that players do not automatically lose all their equipment after death. Instead, those affected are given the opportunity to retrieve half of their inventory at the location of death or at the containers in the safe zone after a virtual screen death.

However, it should be noted that the players should not take too much time for this, as secured items disappear permanently after two hours. Other facilities of the softcore mode include the fact that players who are not marked as a hostile target can respawn at any time in the safe zones of the bandit camp or the outpost.

In addition, the size of one's own teams is limited to a maximum of four players. If you should fear that the new mode could soften the merciless player experience that Rust has always been known for, then it should be said that the softcore mode is introduced in a purely optional version.
