The pirate adventure Sea of Thieves has been available since March 2018 and is now celebrating its third birthday. There is, however, another reason to celebrate, as the open-world title has only recently cracked the 20 million player mark. Even though this figure is not entirely attributable to sales, as Sea of Thieves is also represented in the Xbox Game Pass, the developers of RARE were still able to record a considerable success.
To give the celebrations the right frame, various birthday gifts are distributed in the game, such as emotes for Game Pass users or special sails for your ship, which you can grab between 18 March and 25 March. In addition, the developers made it clear that they have big plans for 2021.
