With the new update, EA is introducing a strict content filter in The Sims 4 to remove sexual and unacceptable content from the community.
In the CC marketplace, fans have been able to offer their own Sims, houses, or textures for download. With the updated content filter, as EA explains, all content will now be deleted that, among other things, violates the Youth Protection Act.
In addition, EA announces: We would like to thank the community for their support in identifying these inappropriate uploads - you have contributed significantly to us being able to provide our players with a safe, creative environment. We will continue to do everything we can to remove offensive content, identify and remove repeat offenders, and regularly check the filter for inappropriate content for the need for updates. We encourage all players to use the "Report" button in the Gallery to notify us of any offensive uploads or comments.
We have not yet come across any such content. However, that this new filter has been introduced is still a step in the right direction, to what extent this will also affect the announced Sims 5 remains to be seen.
