Developer studio Red Square Games has announced the release of its new isometric shooter/hacker/sneaker game SlavicPunk: Oldtimer. The game is based on the fiction of Polish author Michał Gołkowski and features a private detective as the protagonist.
It promises solid combat and movement systems as well as a modular weapon upgrade system. Players have the option to use stealth, but non-lethal stealth may not be possible due to the nature of the game.
Battlehacking and a Dark Story
The game also includes a battlehacking system described as our own high-tech magic system. The story revolves around stolen data and a company responsible for ruining the city. Players have the option to explore the city, find side quests, and push the story forward.
The game offers a mix of futuristic and outdated technologies as well as the dark, brutalist architecture typical of post-communist countries.
A New Tabletop RPG in the Works
Red Square is also working on a tabletop RPG in the same setting called SibirPunk. SlavicPunk: Oldtimer is set to be released on Steam in the second quarter of 2023. More details about the game are set to be released soon.
