The survival game Sons of the Forest has successfully launched on Steam and has managed to win over hundreds of thousands of players within the first 24 hours.
With a peak of 269,563 concurrent players on the first day, the game broke the record for concurrent players, surpassing games like Rust, Rainbow Six Siege, and Payday 2.
Before launch, Sons of the Forest was the most wished-for game on Steam and currently sits at number 31 on the SteamDB list of the 100 games with the highest player counts of all time.
Sons of the Forest Not Yet Finished
The game was released partially unfinished, however, as Endnight Games plans to update it gradually based on player feedback. The developer team is currently working on adding items, mechanics, and improving gameplay. An exact date for the game's first patch is yet to be announced, but bug fixes for technical issues are expected to arrive soon.
Tips for Players
Players can prepare for the game by checking the size of the Sons of the Forest map and locations, the list of weapons, and the list of mutants, cannibals, and enemies.
