After the first trailer for Sons of the Forest appeared in spring 2021, it became a bit quieter around the franchise a few months later. After a long wait, the forest fan community was therefore all the more surprised and impressed when the new trailer appeared on November 30, 2021. In addition to new insights into the many hitherto unknown features of Sons of the Forest, a release date is now also set. On May 20, 2022, it will be so far and Sons of the Forest will be officially released. Whether the game is released in Early Access or as a full version is unknown to date. Old "friends"
As presented in the first trailer, the latest preview offers at least as many new features. As in the familiar basic concept of the predecessor The Forest you will find yourself in Sons of the Forest again as a survivor of a crash on an island full of dangers and have to survive by all means. In addition to the native cannibals or sharks in the cave systems, you will also encounter mutants that have never been seen before.
Allies at your side
As it seems, for the first time ever, allied NPCs will be at your side with the more demanding opponents. The young mutated woman from the first trailer is shown in action this time and fights at your side against the cannibals of the island. Also, in one scene it is revealed how a group of men will fight with you against mutant babies and a living mountain of flesh in a laboratory. The developers of Sons of the Forest have already confirmed that friendly NPCs will give the player numerous interaction options.
New Building Concept
In the completely new building concept, constructions are no longer simply placed, but will be extensively adaptable. A campfire is no longer simply placed with a few keyboard buttons, but built in individual steps and with a high-quality animation. To install windows or doors in walls, they must be edited afterwards. How far-reaching this new system is, will only become apparent.
Completely new graphics
The first part of The Forest was already very appealing in terms of graphics for its time, so it is nothing new that in Sons of the Forest this idea has been implemented even better. High-resolution textures, realistic water and wind movements as well as sharp light effects show the familiar and yet new atmosphere of the franchise in the new trailer. With the new four seasons, the game will graphically reach new heights.
The cannibals are getting smarter
A new cannibal AI provides a much more challenging gaming experience. Cannibals can be scared with severed limbs, but they also dare to do a few new things. In Sons of the Forest, your base is not only destroyed, but your supplies are also stolen.
