Square Enix will release a new game called Symbiogenesis in the spring, based on the Polygon blockchain. It is an interactive digital collectible experience set on a mysterious floating island. Players can own and trade digital collectibles to complete various missions and unlock the world's stories. The NFTs can also be used as utility items, giving players access to secret stories.
Polygon as a Carbon Neutral Network
The game uses Polygon as a network that is carbon neutral, as well as Ethereum for security and decentralization. Symbiogenesis will have multiple endings and only three players will be able to participate in the final "World Mission".
Plans for NFTs and Blockchain Technology
Square Enix has plans to use NFTs and blockchain technology and has already released Final Fantasy NFTs. The gaming community has shown little interest in the blockchain so far, but Square Enix hopes that Symbiogenesis will spark more interest.
