A new grand-strategy game set in the Star Trek universe
Paradox Interactive recently announced a new grand-strategy game called Star Trek Infinite, set to be released in the fall. In this game, you can take command of the Federation, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union, or the Klingon Empire. But beware, the Borg are also on the move! Check out the trailer below.
What can you expect from Star Trek Infinite?
In Star Trek Infinite, you take control of one of the four major powers in the galaxy, each with their own unique characteristics, stories, and quests. According to the announcement, the game offers "impressive graphics, difficult decisions, and unique gameplay" to provide you with a new experience of a beloved franchise.
The game is set several decades before the series Star Trek: The Next Generation. However, the official artwork shows characters from the TNG era. Could it be possible that we will see younger versions of the familiar characters in the game?
Who is behind Star Trek Infinite?
Paradox Interactive is the publisher of Star Trek Infinite, but the development of the game is in the hands of Nimble Giant Entertainment. This studio has already gained experience in the gaming industry, including with the slow-motion shooter Quantum League and the modern version of Master Of Orion from 2016.
Further information and release date
Star Trek Infinite will be released in the fall for Windows and Mac. If you are looking for more information about the game, you will have to be patient. Paradox has announced that they will reveal more details on June 16th - appropriately on the so-called "Picard Day", an unofficial fan holiday.
