Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Remake, Remaster or Sequel?

It's not the first time that rumors have surfaced about a remake or remaster of the 2003 action role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (abbreviated KotOR). In recent years, these have always been pure speculation. There is still no concrete information this time either.

Star Wars: KotOR - Remake, Remaster or Sequel?

At the beginning of February 2021, the Swedish video game company Embracer Group announced the acquisition of several video game developers, including the American company Aspyr Media. Aspyr Media is primarily known for porting well-known video games. This included the port of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy for Nintendo Switch and the Android versions of Star Wars: KotOR and KotOR II - The Sith Lords.

In an official press release from the Embracer Group, it is said that Aspyr Media will take over the development of a new AAA video game in the future. On the homepage of Aspyr Media, in turn, several job offers can be found for an AAA role-playing game with interactive dialogue and a narrative focus.
