Star Wars: Squadrons - Strap in and feel the adrenaline

After Star Wars games were somewhat rare leading up to the release of Jedi Fallen Order last year, new fodder for fans of the space saga is already arriving a year later with Star Wars Squadrons. The space simulation is being developed by Motive Studios and published by Electronic Arts - presumably on October 2, 2020. The title will be available for both PC and Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Big Shoes to Fill

It's been a while since you've had the chance to experience a pure flight simulation in the Star Wars universe. Although Battlefront 1 and Battlefront 2 offered the opportunity to fight space battles, here it ran more in arcade style. When you think of Star Wars flight simulations, memories of two of the most popular titles of the past are inevitably evoked - the TIE Fighter and the X-Wing series. Star Wars Squadrons therefore inherits a great legacy and finally delivers authentic space battles from the ego perspective after what feels like decades.

Fight on Two Sides

Not far from the Galactic Civil War, you slip into the role of skilled pilots on both sides of the fighting in the singleplayer campaign and experience the events from the perspective of the Empire and the New Republic. In addition, Star Wars Squadrons offers exciting multiplayer modes in which you can either compete against your friends or fight computer-controlled opponents by their side.

Legendary starfighters and locations

In Star Wars Squadrons, you'll be able to take control of numerous legendary starfighters from throughout the Star Wars saga. On the Republic side, for example, you'll be able to fly X-wings, Y-wings, and A-wings, while the Imperial hangar will have TIE fighters, TIE bombers, and TIE interceptors, among others. The game's locations will range from familiar places like Yavin Prime to less well-known places like Esseles and Sissubo.

Experience virtual worlds

For PC users with a compatible headset, as well as for PSVR owners, Star Wars Squadrons will have full VR support, so you can dive even deeper into space combat. In addition, the space simulation will offer crossplay between all platforms, so PC and console players can play together as they please.
