The Mandalorian - New streaming service Disney+ launches Star Wars series

The Mandalorian makes a powerful impression even without power

The Disney+ streaming service was launched in the United States in mid-November. The House of the Mouse can make use of some of the most popular licenses of all time. For the program compilation the entertainment giant unites the Marvel heroes and Star Wars under one roof in addition to numerous in-house classics.

The universe conceived by George Lucas now provides the basis for the showpiece among the in-house productions, which are intended to convince customers of a subscription: The Mandalorian takes you in episodic format to a far, far away galaxy!

After more than 40 years a real series

More than four decades after "A New Hope", fans and the curious can look forward to the first real series from the Star Wars saga. Pedro Pascal, who has played in "Game of Thrones" or "Narcos" among others, slips into the title role (at first deliberately kept nameless).

Not that you'd see it too clearly when you look: The creators around Jon Favreau ("Iron Man") suggest that the hardened bounty hunter should be seen exclusively in his distinctive armor until further notice. He follows the tradition of the opaque Boba Fett from the original trilogy, whose continuing popularity certainly contributed to the creation of this show.

Familiar Star Wars Feeling

Even without focusing on Jedi knights and lightsabers, The Mandalorian radiates a familiar charm that fans of these old Star Wars movies will appreciate. Inspired by the flair of legendary spaghetti westerns, the protagonist is an efficiency-minded lone warrior who usually doesn't lose more words than necessary.

Instead of CGI bombast and forced humour, the series focuses on a dense atmosphere and correspondingly authentic scenes. If you've been wishing for a more "adult" interpretation of your favorite saga for a long time, you could finally be happy on the small screen!

The fact that the complementary cast of performers is of the finest quality does no harm, of course - in addition to Pascal, the unique Werner Herzog, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Bill Burr or Taika Waititi are also part of the cast. Bitter is just: German interested parties are not allowed to travel with The Mandalorian until March 2020, when Disney+ will also be available here.

New game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

To bridge the time until the launch of The Mandalorian, Respawn Entertainment together with Electronic Arts released a new Star Wars game on November 15, 2019. With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order a pure singleplayer game from the Star Wars universe has been released. The game is available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and the matching Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Key can be found in the Game Fox price comparison.
