What information is there so far about Starfield?
The release date for Starfield is November 11, 2022, and it will be available on PC, Xbox, and as part of Game Pass on day one.
In the trailer from June 13, 2021, we see a film sequence in which an astronaut gets into a spaceship while a robot stomps around on the surface. We get a good look at the ship while a voice says, "What you've found is the key to unlocking... everything" and "We've reached the beginning of humanity's last journey." The pilot sits at a console, flips a bunch of switches, and the trailer ends with rockets firing and the ship taking off.
The ship's appearance in the trailer shows futuristic but still recognizable technology. Lots of buttons and switches like in today's cockpits, as opposed to the super-exotic technology we see in games like Mass Effect.
During the Tokyo Game Show, Howard also told the audience that Starfield will come out with a complete Japanese localization and that it has over 150,000 lines of dialogue. As Nibellion pointed out on Twitter, that's more than double the amount of lines in Skyrim, which had 60,000 lines. It's also more than the 111,000 lines of dialogue in Fallout 4, which means it will be a very chatty RPG.
In the short videos titled "Location Insights," design director Emil Pagliarulo introduces some of the settlements you'll visit in Starfield. Each video is less than a minute long and consists of a brief overview by Pagliarulo of some concept art, so they don't give much away.
In the other videos, we are introduced to New Atlantis, the capital of the United Colonies, and Akila City, the capital of the Freestar Collective, which is surrounded by
