Starfield - Dive into the universe with pen and paper

Experience Starfield before it's released

Starfield, the new RPG from Bethesda, is about to be released and promises an epic adventure through space with spaceship building, quests, and planetary exploration. But what if you could imagine all of that right now with just a sheet of paper and a few colored pencils? That's exactly what 'Planetfield', a tabletop game developed by Reddit user 'bridneus', allows you to do.

'Planetfield' is a short, simple adventure in the spirit of classic cyberpunk tabletops or Dungeons and Dragons. Using dice and your own imagination, you bring the universe to life. As a member of a space exploration group called 'The Zodiac', your task is to find four fragments of an alien artifact – and of course, have fun along the way!

How does Planetfield work?

At its core, Planetfield is kept quite simple: You roll a ten-sided die (D10) to determine the name of your star and the types of planets in your system. Your journey of discovery then depends on further rolls - depending on the outcome, you can expect challenges or even moral dilemmas. Success or failure simply depends on the luck of the dice.

A journey into the universe - without a screen

Although Planetfield does not cover all aspects of the upcoming Starfield, it is a great way to immerse yourself in the mood of the game right now. Perhaps it will even inspire Bethesda to transform Starfield into a physical gaming experience.
