Hello gamers! Get ready to pack your bags because we're heading to a new, uncharted part of the planet in the survival game Stranded: Alien Dawn. With the latest update, the scorching region of Saltu is introduced, where survival is tougher than ever. Imagine being stranded in a hot, humid area where food spoils quickly and rainy seasons can destroy your crops.
The challenges of the tropical paradise
Resilient clothing? Heating materials? You won't need those in Saltu. What you will need, however, is a good strategy to cool your rooms and protect your food from the heat. But be warned: Your electricity bill will be higher than ever before!
Saltu's Unique Challenges and its Monsters
As if heat and decay weren't enough, Saltu also has tropical diseases that spread quickly and can destroy your plants. But don't worry! You can combat them with antibiotics.
In Saltu, you will also encounter new enemies - insect nests full of mantis/scissor-hand monsters. The good news? Defeating them will reward you with valuable silicon. However, there are fewer shrieker nests from which you can harvest carbon.
New Tools for Your Survival
To help you overcome these challenges, the new update offers some useful tools. You can mark camps and areas with flags where your fellow survivors can work and live. Additionally, there are new survival kits like sleeping bags and rations for journeys outside the base, as well as harvesting tools for more efficient gathering. And to protect yourself from toxic ash events and dust storms, respirator masks are now available.
In addition, the update has added signal fires to ward off attacking alien bugs at night. And who knows? Perhaps more tools will be available soon...
