Tekken 7 - The King of Iron Fist tournament is back

In 1994, Namco released the first part of the long-lived Tekken series, a then groundbreaking 3D fighting game. Tekken is one of the best-known genre representatives and has always guaranteed exciting duels on the couch or later online. More than 25 years later, the game principle of the series has not lost its fascination, but has been refined a little with each part and extended with new elements. With Tekken 3, the ability to sidestep came into play and the fourth part of the series allowed you to slam your opponents against the wall and cause special damage. Tekken has been building on the foundation of the original for more than two decades and each sequel adds something new step by step. Tekken 7 is the next step in the evolution of the series.

Control and gameplay

The success of the series was laid with the intuitive control of the first part, which is easy to learn but difficult to master. In Tekken 7, as in the previous games of the series, the four buttons on your controller are still available for the two arms and legs of your character. In combination with the directional pad, you conjure up punches, kicks and whole combos on the screen that can be executed naturally and precisely. This is what a good fighting game is all about at its core, and Tekken 7 delivers here in every respect.

The seventh installment of the series takes over all the changes of the brand and refines them further. The Rage system introduced with Tekken 6 has been expanded with Rage Arts, which can cause 30 percent more damage to your opponent, and Rage Drives, which give you a small advantage when blocking and open up new combo possibilities. Both systems give you the opportunity to turn the round in your favor when your life bar is running low. In addition, there are Power Crushes, which serve the same purpose by thwarting attacks. However, experienced players can counter them very easily. The Bound system from Tekken 6, which brought spectacular but unrealistic combos with it, has been replaced by the Screw system and allows you to turn sideways after a juggle.

The evasion maneuvers have been slowed down overall and require more crouching and blocking. Combos after the juggle now scale and do less damage, resulting in a more strategic sequence of combos. These changes to the gameplay fit together wonderfully and once again bring dramatic fights to the screen that will excite you.

Character Selection

Tekken 7 offers 36 fighters to choose from at release, 28 of which are already known from previous games in the series. The remaining eight characters are new and testify to the creativity of the developers.
With Akuma, Tekken 7 even has a fighter from the Street Fighter universe. There are approximately 150 attacks per fighter that you can flexibly link to each other, which can vary depending on the position and position of the opponent. Long-lasting fun is guaranteed.
