Developer studio Telltale Games has secured 8 million dollars in investor funding to finance the development and release of The Expanse: A Telltale Series as well as the continued development of The Wolf Among Us 2 and another unannounced title.
The Series A financing round was led by Hiro Capital and supported by Skybound Entertainment.
After the original Telltale Games studio closed in 2018, LGC Entertainment purchased its key assets, brands, technologies, and intellectual property rights to revive the company in 2019. The original Telltale Games was known for developing episodic titles such as The Walking Dead, Tales from the Borderlands, and The Wolf Among Us, the latter of which will now receive a sequel.
Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie stated that the funding will help the studio realize its vision by honoring Telltale's legacy and furthering the narrative genre.
