Although The Callisto Protocol was developed with a budget of 200 billion won, about 150 million euros, over the past three years, it seems to have negative effects on the company's future performance due to lack of sales.
Reduced Target Prices
According to industry sources, Daishin Securities, Samsung Securities, Shinhan Securities, KIWOOM Securities, Korea Investment & Securities, and Hyundai Motor Securities have lowered their target prices for Krafton. The main reason cited is the weak sales of the game, which was released on December 2 last year.
Samsung Securities predicted in a stock report that the company had expected to sell 5 million copies, but that it would be difficult to sell 2 million copies by the end of this year given the current sales figures. Other analysts also lowered their estimates for the game's total sales and operating profit this year.
Player feedback is also negative, and the game is receiving a "mixed" rating from users on the global PC gaming platform "Steam". Global comprehensive game rating site "Metacritic" also has low ratings for the Xbox version, PlayStation version, and PC version of the game.
