It's no longer news that Telltale is adapting games to successful movies and TV shows. So it's no surprise that The Expanse is getting its own game. The lead role is played by Camina Drummer, who was last (spoiler alert!) appointed President of the Transport Union by James Holden.
The Popularity of The Expanse
In addition to an exciting story with many unexpected twists and turns, the realism of the series is also responsible for its popularity. Of course, the series does not always take it very seriously, but the main problems of weightlessness, gravity and G-forces are omnipresent in The Expanse. And this is where the game is set. Game Director Stephan Frost said he was looking forward to the zero-G elements in the game. So actually one of the most important aspects of a sci-fi space game.
In the last trailer released, you already get a first impression of the overall atmosphere of the game. For example, exploring the wrecks of spaceships creates a feeling of suspense, horror and curiosity. Of course, as in the series, the bodies of the crew are a permanent part of the game.
A release is not to be expected until mid-2023. It is not yet known whether the game will be released in several episodes like other titles. But we estimate that the release will also announce the further episodes. Anything else would be very untypical for Telltale.
