The Last of Us Part II (2)
After only recently coming out with the announcement that The Last of Us Part II will be released in February 2020, there is now a new release date. The developer Naughty Dog has pushed the release date back a few months. The reason for this is that the game does not yet have the quality that the developer envisions.
The official release date for The Last of Us Part II on the PlayStation 4 is now May 29th, 2020.
All editions of The Last of Us Part II PS4
In addition to the Standard Edition there is also the Digital Deluxe Edition, Special Edition and the Collector’s Edition. If you are not sure which edition is right for you, you can take a look at the contents.
If you pre-order one of the editions you will receive a few bonuses in addition to the normal content of the edition. The first bonus is the ammunition capacity improvement for Ellie's pistol at the beginning of your game. The second bonus is the manufacturing manual, which grants access to new recipes and improvements and is available at game start. The last bonus is only for digital pre-orders and unlocks the PSN Avatar Ellis Tattoo.
Standard Edition
In addition to the full version of The Last of Us Part II, there are no additional content here other than the possible pre-order bonuses. The Standard Edition is available on disc as well as in digital form.
Digital Deluxe Edition
This edition is only available in digital form and comes with all the content of the digital standard edition as well as a few bonuses. Of course, you also have the option to receive the pre-order bonuses here.

What is the story of The Last of Us Part II?
In an interview from 2017, the chief author and creative director said the very accurate statement "The story is about the feeling of hate" about the story of the game.
The action adventure picks up five years after the events of The Last of Us. The world is still infected by the fungus called "Ophiocordyceps unilateralis". This fungus has already wiped out humanity in the first part and turned a large part of the people into fungus mutants who want to destroy all life. The survivors are exposed to many dangers in this new world and fight from day to day. The two main characters from the first part of The Last of Us, smuggler Joel and his adopted daughter Ellie, play the main characters again here. This time you control Ellie and instead of an emotional father-daughter story, it's much darker, bloodier and more brutal.

After the two settled down in the small settlement Jackson at the end of part one, four years have already passed. Ellie is now 19 years old and has developed a lot. She goes on an exploration tour with several other residents of Jackson. Ellie is on the road with her friend in the icy surroundings until they get lost. Ellie tries to find her companion and comes across a group of survivors who kill her friend right in front of her eyes.
Somehow she survives the whole thing and swears revenge for her friend. Joel comes to her aid unexpectedly and saves her life. Afterwards Ellie and Joel set out to find the group that is responsible for the pain and the hate of the main protagonist.
The story promises to be very exciting, emotional but above all brutal. So
Optimization for the PlayStation 4 Pro
The game will receive an optimization for the PS 4 Pro and will receive better graphics, higher resolution textures and more details. Of course, The Last of Us Part II still looks very good on a normal PS4.
What's new in The Last of Us Part II?
In addition to the new story and the old characters, there are many new features in the control and gameplay of the game. We have summarized the most important changes for you:
- The playable character is now Ellie and no longer Joel
- There will be an AI companion on the revenge tour (We think it will be Joel)
- It is now possible to lie down, crawl and slip through tight obstacles
- Ellie can swing up to surfaces and attack opponents from the movement

- Ellie can jump
- The new traversal animation system is used
- All characters now have a heartbeat (also Ellie)
- Ellie's throwing knife does not break (no Shiv anymore)
- The crafting system remains but is expanded
