The Embracer Group has acquired the rights to The Lord of the Rings. This includes the rights for video games, TV series and of course movies. The CEO of Embracer sees great potential in the franchise and especially in the video game market. This was confirmed by Lars Wingefors' statement at the Mipcom Cannes event. There he said that the video game sector is the largest and best opportunity for the growth and monetization of The Lord of the Rings.
