Fans of survival horror and co-op action can rejoice: On May 18th, the long-awaited release of the multiplayer horror game "The Outlast Trials" will take place on Steam and the Epic Games Store in early access. With "The Outlast Trials," developer Red Barrels will now release the third installment of the popular Outlast series.
A new survival horror experience
In this game, the player takes on the role of a human guinea pig recruited by the Murkoff Corporation to test advanced methods of brainwashing and mind control. Unlike previous games, "The Outlast Trials" features more pronounced role-playing elements. The player can choose between different classes, each offering different abilities to survive with their teammates.
New Skills and Gameplay Mechanics
The skills in "The Outlast Trials" include the ability to see enemies through walls, heal allies, lay mines, blind enemies, and deploy a stun device to distract enemies. However, "The Outlast Trials" is still primarily a survival game where stealth and evasion are the main tools. If the player prefers to play alone, it is also possible, as the game is designed to be played alone or with others.
Early Access and Zombie Action
"The Outlast Trials" will be released as an Early Access game, which means that players can expect additional features after the game's launch. In a trailer, the developer studio also shows first scenes of the game and the cast of speakers who scream violently through the game. If you're interested, you can already add the game to your wishlist on Steam or the Epic Games Store.
While you wait for "The Outlast Trials," you can also try other cooperative games, such as Left 4 Dead or the recently released Back 4 Blood. If you prefer to improve your stealth skills, you can also take a look at the best stealth games.
