Since May 21, 2020, the game Timelie by Thai software and video game developer Urnique Studios has been available for Microsoft Windows. In it, you wake up in the role of a little girl in a surreal world that is completely unknown to her. Shortly after waking up, she realizes that nameless robots are after her. The only way to escape is through a maze of passages and opponents.
Accompanied by a mysterious cat, it is now your task to control the girl through a series of tricky levels. You must not be caught by the robots. The levels and opponent positions are set up like a puzzle. That's why Timelie is also referred to as a stealth puzzle game by Urnique Studios.
Playing with Time
Timelie has been in development for some time and has already received several industry awards for its innovative concept. Even after the release, the first reviews from renowned video game magazines such as IGN and Screenrant are extremely positive. Users on Steam also like the game. At the center of Timelie is a new game mechanics that provides tension: time manipulation. At any time you have the opportunity to jump back in time, or to fast forward a bit into the future. In Timelie you control the girl's and cat's movements in parallel. This is referred to by Urnique Studios as cooperative single player, as Timelie can only be played alone.
As the robots search for you, you can plan movements and actions for the girl and the cat to avoid them. You have to imagine this roughly like in the turn-based stealth game Invisible Inc. Both are played from the isometric perspective. But Timelie runs in real time. This makes the hide-and-seek game much more dynamic. Especially when you're not just fleeing, but also trying to get your hands on the objects and secrets scattered all over the game world.
