So what could be more natural than giving little Tina her own game? This is exactly what the developers of Gearbox Software thought, and they announced the spin-off Tiny Tina's Wonderlands in collaboration with 2K Games.
Tiny Tina will be played by actress Ashly Burch in the latest Borderlands adventure, who gave us some first details about the spin-off in the official announcement. According to her, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will be inspired by the Borderlands 2 DLC Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep in terms of both theme and gameplay.
Your own character in a fantasy world
As a result, Tiny Tina will not be a playable character. Instead, the psychologically disturbed protagonist will act as a game master in typical pen-and-paper style and tell a story in a fantasy world. You create your own hero, with which you explore the aforementioned fantasy world and face the challenges that Tiny Tina has in store for you.
The makers of Gearbox Software were inspired by well-known pen-and-paper role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons or Das Schwarze Auge when working on Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Not surprisingly, you will be pursued by enemies such as skeletons, orcs, goblins or dragons in the fantasy world created by Tiny Tina.
The classic Borderlands mechanics return
While Gearbox Software wants to go new ways with the setting of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, familiar fare will be offered in the gameplay area to the greatest possible extent. In terms of basic gameplay mechanics, the spin-off will orient itself on the previous Borderlands adventures and understand itself as a classic loot shooter, in which you send your opponents to the virtual Jordan by the dozen.
At the same time, you will come across new weapons and equipment at every turn, with which you can equip and improve your hero continuously. According to the developers, the magical abilities of your hero will provide some fresh gameplay. These allow you to attack your opponents with fire spells, heal your hero or discover hidden treasures.
