DB BR 642: The star of secondary lines
The DB BR 642, also known as Desiro Classic, has been a common sight on rural secondary lines since its introduction in the late 1990s. These diesel multiple units transport passengers on non-electrified routes, offering innovative low-floor and entry designs for increased accessibility. And the best part? Thanks to the "Free Roam" feature in Train Sim World 4, you even have the opportunity to drive the 642 on other German routes!
Full steam ahead through Bavaria
The Maintalbahn route, on which you will be traveling with the DB BR 642, is located in the westernmost part of Bavaria and follows the course of the Main River. Despite being a single-track line, it offers a diverse service schedule for your journeys with the DB BR 642 and the local freight trains.
New addition to the fleet: The DB BR 363
But the DB BR 642 is not the only newcomer in Train Sim World 4. In addition to the diesel multiple unit, the shunting locomotive DB BR 363 in blue livery is also joining. This powerful locomotive was developed in the late 1950s, and a total of 942 units were delivered until production ceased in 1964.
