Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 - Release Date, Story, and Gameplay Overview

When is the release date of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2? After years of waiting and almost two decades since the first game, there is finally news about Bloodlines 2 from developer Paradox Interactive. After a painful development process that included multiple delays and a change of developers to Hardsuit Labs, you can rest assured that one of the potentially best Xbox RPG games and PS5 RPG games will be released soon.

The release date of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is set for Fall 2024 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This was confirmed at PAX West 2023, where the game was reintroduced with a brand-new trailer. This also means that it will not be released on PS4 or Xbox One.

History of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2

Bloodlines 2 takes players into the dark underworld of Seattle, where vampires fight for survival and dominance. As an older vampire, you will encounter fascinating characters, navigate complex political relationships, roam the city streets in search of prey, and engage in intense battles while balancing your need for blood. In the game, players must always keep an eye on their surroundings or risk breaking the Masquerade - the absolute secrecy law that hides the vampire society from humans. A full gameplay reveal is scheduled for January 2024. But let's take a step back: Who actually developed the game? The new developer was officially revealed by Paradox Interactive as The Chinese Room, based in Brighton, the team behind Dear Esther and Everybody's Gone To The Rapture.

Gameplay of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2

Paradox Interactive previously announced that Bloodlines 2 will be reintroduced in September 2023. The latest trailer gives us a brief glimpse of the gameplay, which has been revamped with new RPG systems and mechanics, according to an interview with PCGamer. Those who have pre-ordered the game (Steam keys are available) will receive a refund as the editions of the game and bonus content are being updated and changed. The Unsanctioned Edition and Blood Moon Edition will remain unchanged, but you can still request a refund. The Chinese Room has a long history of working on horror games - from "walking simulators" like Dear Esther and Everybody's Gone To The Rapture to their upcoming game Still Wakes The Deep. This is by far the most ambitious title for the studio yet; they definitely seem aware of the expectations after fans have waited for the sequel for over two decades. Hopefully, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 will make our hearts race!
