Volcanoids - New update brings drones

The latest update for the game Volcanoids is finally here and offers a range of new features and improvements, particularly the brand new drones. The developers have worked hard to deliver this update and it will surely bring a lot of joy to players. The highlight of this update is undoubtedly the new drones.

There are three different types: Turret, Support, and Mining drones. The drones are a huge help for solo players and provide additional tactical options in multiplayer games. The Turret and Support drones allow useful parts of the Drillship to be brought into battle, while the Mining drones enable complete automation of resource gathering.

The support drones are essentially walls that can be built anywhere you need cover. You can even build complete pop-up forts with them! But there's much more to these walls than meets the eye:

  • Each drone has platforms that allow you to perform the "peak-shoot-crouch combo."
  • There are small windows that can be used as observation posts to spot the next target.
  • Medical and armor stations are also attached to the walls.

And the best part is yet to come: The support drones can retrieve items from the drillship's inventory and vice versa. If you need more ammunition, let the drone bring it to you. If you need to empty your inventory, put it on the drone and send it back!

The second type of drones is the turret drones. There are eight different types of guns, with the pistol gun being the standard gun. The player can easily change the type on the drone's module. The only requirement is the availability of the weapons you want to put on the drone.

As seen in the trailer, the player can also attach the gun seat to the turret drone and manually control it. This means that there can now be a dedicated shooter who can sit back at the drillship while sending the other turret drones into battle.

The mining drones are fully automated and can mine resources around the drillship even when the player is busy elsewhere. They are automatically deployed after you build the module and it constructs the drone.

Map Changes

In addition to the new drones, there are also some changes to the maps. The most important one is that the player can now choose different difficulty levels. There is an easy mode for beginners and a hard mode for experienced players. Additionally, the world has been expanded with some new areas to explore.

Other changes include improvements to the enemy AI, which can now follow the player, as well as improvements to the performance and controls of the game. Overall, this update is a big step forward for Volcanoids, and we can't wait to see what the developers have planned next.
