The F-16C Block 50 conquers the skies of War Thunder
Dear gamers, get ready for a real highlight in War Thunder: the F-16C Block 50! This upgraded version of the famous multirole fighter F-16 is bursting with power and new features. With its powerful engine and state-of-the-art guided weapons, it will dominate the skies.
The F-16C Block 50 will join the top of the US jet line with the next major update. With eight weapon pylons, a more powerful engine, AIM-7 Sparrow air-to-air missiles, and brand-new laser-guided precision bombs, this is a jet you definitely want to fly!
Power at its finest: The F-16C Block 50
Engine power thanks to modernization
Thanks to the Block 50 modernization program, the F-16C is equipped with a brand new F110-GE-129 engine. This engine provides more thrust at standstill and low speeds compared to its predecessor, the F-16A. And when it comes to transonic and supersonic speeds, the F-16C takes the lead.
An abundance of weapon options
But what would a jet be without its weapons? The selection on the F-16C is impressive. In addition to AIM-7 Sparrow air-to-air missiles and AIM-9L Sidewinders, it can also deploy conventional unguided weapons against ground targets. Whether it's free-falling delayed bombs, incendiary bombs, or rockets – there's something for everyone!
Laser-guided bombs join the game
A special addition to the F-16s in War Thunder are the laser-guided bombs, which were not previously available. Thanks to the LITENING II targeting pod, two types of bombs - GBU-12 Paveway II and GBU-24 Paveway III - weighing 500 and 2,000 pounds respectively, can now be carried on the F-16C.
Let's not forget about the AGM-65D Maverick missiles, which can be fired from a triple-rail pod.
