War Thunder presents: The Mirage 4000
Today, we take a look at the Mirage 4000, an experimental variant of the well-known Mirage fighter jet that was developed in parallel with the Mirage 2000. With a twin-engine configuration and greatly improved aerodynamics, the Mirage 4000 will soon be introduced at Rank VIII of the French aircraft tree in the major "Air Superiority" update!
Mirage 4000: A Rank VIII Jet Fighter for France
- Excellent aerodynamics!
- Twin-engine propulsion.
- Versatile arsenal.
- Top speed of Mach 2.2.
As the name suggests, the Mirage 4000 builds upon the legacy of the Mirage aircraft family, taking almost every aspect to the next level. Its sleek design, increased power, and enhanced payload capacities make the Mirage 4000 stand out from the competition, but there is much more to discover!
The Mirage 4000 in Action
The Mirage 4000 is the first aircraft in the Mirage family in War Thunder to depart from the traditional single-engine design and instead presents a striking twin-engine layout. Therefore, the Mirage 4000 is powered by a pair of the well-known SNECMA M53-P2 turbofan engines. This allows this jet to accelerate to a maximum top speed of Mach 2.2! But it's not just the top speed that sets the Mirage 4000 apart.
Perhaps even more important is the excellent maneuverability of the aircraft. Thanks to the characteristic Mirage delta wing design, combined with controllable canards in front of the engine air intakes, this aircraft has fantastic maneuvering capabilities at low and high speeds. Thanks to these and other improvements, this jet can comfortably engage any opponent it encounters in the air.
Armament and Arsenal of the Mirage 4000
Good aerodynamics are certainly a good start, but they don't make up the complete design of a full-fledged fighter. This task falls to the armament, and in this aspect, the Mirage 4000 has a lot to offer. In addition to its standard armament of two 30mm DEFA cannons mounted under the fuselage, the Mirage 4000 can equip up to 8 x R550 missiles in a load or 3 x 530F air-to-air missiles.
The Mirage 4000 can also boast its flexibility in terms of its arsenal. You have access to a wide range of guided and conventional ammunition. Some highlights include the well-known AS-30L Nord AGM, up to 6 x 2000 and 1000 lb bombs, as well as 2 x BGL 1000 guided bombs.
The Mirage 4000 in Service
As a result, the Mirage can attack a variety of enemy ground targets, making it the ideal choice for your ground formations! Although the Mirage 4000 never went into production due to adverse circumstances, its advanced design and outstanding performance paved the way for the development of the legendary Rafale fighter.
The Mirage 4000 will soon be available in the French aircraft tree in the next major update "Air Superiority"! Until then, see you soon! And don't forget to get your Steam Key for War Thunder at Keyfuchs!
