War Thunder - Radar Warning Receiver Under Review

Introduction

Hey gamers, get ready to buckle up and prepare for an extraordinary update. War Thunder is gearing up for its next major update, "Sons of Attila," and we have exclusive information just for you! The focus of this update is the extensive improvements to the Radar Warning Receiver (RWR). Yes, you heard it right - the War Thunder team has delved deep into the mechanics and completely overhauled the RWR system.

The Mission: Improving the RWR

The Radar Warning Receiver is a crucial component for all aircraft and helicopters in the higher ranks. After receiving numerous player feedback and suggestions, War Thunder has decided to enhance the system. The goal was to realistically replicate various individual RWR systems. As a result, RWRs in Realistic and Simulator modes now have identifiable frequency ranges, and older RWRs can no longer differentiate between certain modes. Sounds exciting, doesn't it?

Comprehensive Improvements: A Deeper Look

Now let's take a closer look at what changes are being made. First of all, the developers have set up an actual operating frequency range for each RWR model in the game. This means that success in detecting radar emissions now depends on whether the frequency range of the RWR matches the operating frequency of the radar. Depending on the model, targets are identified in different ways. The most advanced RWRs can even detect missile launches.

But that's not all! Depending on the generation, some stations have no ability to detect pulse-Doppler signals. Now, a number of older RWRs have also lost this capability. In addition, another exciting feature has been added: advanced stations now simulate tracking for each source and its relative movement on the indicator.

So, there's a lot to look forward to in the new "Sons of Attila" update!
