WarCraft 3: Reforged - Release confirmed for 2019 and changes to the story rejected

WarCraft 3 Reforged is supposed to come out according to latest information from Blizzard still in 2019. On BlizzCon 2019 it was confirmed by Robert Bridenbecker (Executive Director and Vice President at Blizzard) that WarCraft 3 Reforged will come out this year. Thus Blizzard still has nearly 6 weeks left to release the game.

WarCraft 3: Reforged Closed Beta

The Closed Beta of the multiplayer of WC 3 Reforged has been running on PC since November 1, 2019. The scope of the beta is still relatively small compared to the later scope. In addition to 1 vs 1, there are still 2 vs 2 matches that can be played with humans, orcs and undead. To participate in the beta, you either need a Virtual Ticket for BlizzCon 2019 or a WarCraft 3 Reforged key from the pre-sale.

The story of Warcraft 3 Reforged will no longer be changed

Originally Blizzard had planned to change the story of WC3 a bit. Certain passages in the single-player campaign were to be changed to fit the story of World of Warcraft again. At the same time, a few popular characters from the WC universe were to be given more time in the story. These would have been Jaina Proudmoore and Sylvanas Windrunner.
At BlizzCon there was a lot of criticism from the fans of the planned changes. Blizzard has now taken this seriously and discarded all changes.
