Winter Wonderland Returns to ARK: Survival Ascended
Deck the halls with holly! Winter Wonderland triumphantly returns with new gifts and treats for the ARK survivors. The epic winter holiday event will begin on December 21, 2023, and will be live on the official servers until January 7, 2024.
RaptorClaus will sail through the starry night sky in his sleigh, dropping presents filled with high-quality loot, as well as mistletoe and coal for the naughty survivors. You'll be able to see RaptorClaus flying through the sky at midnight (in-game time) on all maps.
What to Expect at the Winter Wonderland Event?
Increased Rates
From December 21st to January 7th, the following rules apply:
- PVP/PVE: 1.5x Harvesting, Taming, Experience + 1.5x Breeding
- Small Tribes: 4x Harvesting, Taming, Experience + 3.5x Breeding
- ARKpocalypse: 4.5x Harvesting, Taming, Experience + 4.5x Breeding
New Features
The event brings a range of new features, including:
- RaptorClaus
- Santa's Big Helper Yeti - Drops coal and mistletoe.
- Snowman - Drops coal and mistletoe.
- Pegomastax Grouch - Drops coal and mistletoe. Steals gift boxes in exchange for a special reward.
- Rideable Reindeer - Drops coal and mistletoe. Can be fed Rockarrot and ridden for additional drop quantities.
Event-specific recipes are now found on the Smithy instead of the Cooking Pot.
New Emotes & Skins
For even more fun in the snow, there are new emotes like the Caroling Emote or the Nutcracker Dance Emote. And of course, the new skins are not to be missed! How about the Blue-Ball Winter Beanie Skin or the Christmas Bola Skin?
New Items & Colors
But that's not all! Winter Wonderland also brings new items like coal, Festive Dino Candy, and gift boxes, as well as new colors like Lavender and Dino Deep Violet to your game.
How to Activate Winter Wonderland?
To activate Winter Wonderland in your game, select it from the mod list and install it. After installation, go back to your game setup screen and select 'Mod Settings'. There you will see Winter Wonderland and any other mods you have downloaded under 'Available Mods'. Choose Winter Wonderland and activate it.
If you want to activate Winter Wonderland on your private servers, add the mod ID to your server startup arguments (-mods=modID). No further changes should be necessary to activate the event. The mod ID will be announced in the ARK: Survival Ascended Patchnotes when the event goes live.
