The Success Story of the Reconnaissance Mission 2023
Commanders, hold on tight! The Reconnaissance Mission 2023 was a complete success and has thrilled tank drivers. The random events on maps such as Himmelsdorf, Ruinberg, Prokhorovka, and Safe Haven were very well received by players. During the event, over 13.1 million battles were fought by more than 521,000 helpful players, and over 107,000 of you shared feedback in almost 400,000 questionnaires.
Satisfaction with Dynamic Cover and Gameplay Changes
The introduction of dynamic cover has been very well received by players. A whopping 74.9% of Reconnaissance Mission participants expressed satisfaction with this feature and used both types of movable objects in creative ways. Thermal imaging maps show that the random events have made the action on the maps more interesting. For example, players actively use new passages and lines of fire and are encouraged to enter certain areas.
Changes to the Return of Random Events
As part of the Random Battles, the return of random events will see some changes to enhance the player experience:
- The red danger zone borders will be replaced with something that better fits the map environment (e.g. dense smoke). Round markers over the event zones will also be removed and mini-map icons will be reworked.
- The visual design will be completely overhauled: all textures, effects, and animations will be improved to make random events more spectacular and realistic. However, the performance of lower-end systems will not be affected.
- Random events will live up to their name: they will start at a random time after the battle begins or may not occur at all.
Enhancing the Gameplay Experience
The introduction of random events has not significantly affected the balance of the maps. We will continue to monitor the map balance and make adjustments as necessary. In late fall 2023, you can expect an even more improved version of random events. The exact selection of maps and events will be determined at a later date.
