October means free games for all Xbox Live Gold members and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, of course. This month, there are two games up for grabs.
The first game is Windbound, the first non-original Xbox or Xbox 360 game. In the second half of October, Bomber Crew Deluxe Edition will be added. For those who haven't got the free game Double Kick Heroes from last month, they should do so by October 15th. After that, the game is no longer free.
Windbound
Get Windbound free for a month. In the adventure game, you try to survive on a mysterious island chain as Kara.
For this you have to find and manage resources, make weapons and build a makeshift boat. Windbound offers a very nice sandbox experience and was released in 2020. It's worth a look for anyone who likes survival adventure games.
Bomber Crew Deluxe Edition
From October 16th, members can get the Bomber Crew Deluxe Edition. This strategy simulation takes you back to World War II. You take command of a bomber crew and have to make difficult decisions.
The right crew and good resource management are vital for survival. The possible crew members are generated randomly and have unique properties. The colorful cartoon graphics can easily distract from the actually serious topic.
