XDefiant: Ubisoft delays start of pre-season
Ubisoft recently announced that the start of the pre-season for XDefiant, the highly anticipated free-to-play arena shooter, has been postponed indefinitely. The reasons for this delay are issues and inconsistencies that arose during the game's public testing phase.
Originally planned for a summer release, the recent testing session took place in September. However, the global gaming community will now have to wait a little longer before they can dive into the action-packed gameplay.
The reasons for the delay
The testing phase of XDefiant has revealed some inconsistencies in the gameplay that need to be addressed before the official start of the preseason, as announced by Ubisoft. Therefore, the developer has made the "difficult decision to delay the preseason of XDefiant". A new release date is yet to be announced.
What can players expect in the preseason?
The preseason is intended to serve as an introductory phase for XDefiant and will last for six weeks. It will include the factions and maps from the "insider sessions and closed beta" of the game. After the start of the preseason, Ubisoft promises to release game updates every three months. These updates will include "new weapons, maps, events, and a new faction".
