XDefiant - Ubisoft's new FPS game struggles with issues

XDefiant: Ubisoft's new shooter with problems in closed beta

Ubisoft's upcoming FPS game XDefiant had a rocky start to its closed beta. The testing phase, which began a few days ago, was never without issues. However, one problem has become so severe that Ubisoft has decided to discard all player progress and instead unlock everything for all players.

Executive Producer Mark Rubin confirmed this on Twitter, explaining that this change will give everyone access to the best weapons and classes in XDefiant without having to grind. However, players may still experience issues with saving loadouts.

Issues with Skins and Servers

Interestingly, as part of this decision, all skins in XDefiant have been deactivated. However, given the frequency of server problems such as BRAVO-04 error codes or ECHO and FOXTROT-01 errors, this is hardly the most pressing issue. Rubin emphasized to an angry player that such problems should be expected from XDefiant at this time, as the game is in a closed beta phase.

Ubisoft is using this phase to stress test the game as much as possible and ensure that the final product is in a better state when the official release date arrives.

Closed Beta Possibly Extended

If you still want to try out this potential CoD competitor, you may be in luck: the closed beta of XDefiant could be extended due to server issues. So, you can find out when the closed beta ends and how to redeem XDefiant Twitch Drops. This game has the potential to become one of the best competitive FPS games - provided it survives the turbulent beta testing phase.

Conclusion: XDefiant Not Yet a Perfect Call of Duty Alternative

Although XDefiant may seem like an interesting alternative to Call of Duty at first glance, the bumpy start to the closed beta clearly shows that there is still a long way to go before it reaches perfection. However, players must be aware that such problems are normal during a beta phase and Ubisoft is using this time to optimize the game. Stay tuned and regularly check for updates and news on XDefiant - it may prove to be a worthy competitor in the FPS genre.
