Steam users can look forward to a new update soon: On February 10th, the new Steam Deck client update will be released, bringing many new features and bug fixes.
Faster start up for users with large game collections
The update is designed to speed up the start up of Steam for users with large game collections. Additionally, a virtual keyboard has been added to the overlay, which remembers its last position. The settings for the initial position of the keyboard on the desktop and in the Steam overlay have also been improved. A new feature allows for a quick jump to a certain letter in the library.
Steam Input bug fixes
Several bugs have also been fixed in Steam Input. Missing inputs for the touchscreen controller in the Steam Link app have been fixed, as well as a problem with the background image display for certain buttons. The missing startup sound for Team Fortress 2 and problems with the drift calibration of the Nintendo Switch gyro have also been fixed.
Return to the old Game Info dialog
In desktop mode, the old Game Information dialog from the Friends List has also been returned. The hotkey ""Alt-Enter"" has been added to exit Big Picture mode. A problem that caused the Big Picture mode window to open again and display errors has also been fixed. A crash that occurred when opening the Steam Store has also been fixed. Additionally, a problem that caused the Steam library to become unusable after applying a controller configuration has been fixed.
